| A message from Fire Chief Jeff Willis |
Greetings from Big Bear City, a high alpine mountain resort community in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest. As Fire Chief, I welcome you to the Big Bear City Fire Department web site. It is our hope that you will find the site both informative and entertaining.
The Big Bear City Fire Department is one of five services provided by the Big Bear City Community Services District, which is governed by a five member Board of Directors elected by the voters of Big Bear City, Sugarloaf, Erwin Lake, Lake William and the eastern portion of Moonridge.
The Department operates two staffed fire stations providing emergency responses including but not limited to, structural and Wildland fires, medical aids, rescues, and traffic collisions. We cover an area of 21.13 square miles. Additionally, the Department is responsible for all Advanced Life Support ambulance transport services to an operating area of 256 square mile, resulting in over 3,000 emergency responses annually.
All members of the Big Bear City Fire Department are committed to providing the highest level of service possible to the residents and visitors of Big Bear Valley. The support of the Big Bear City Community Services District Board of Directors, the Big Bear City Community Services District General Manager, and the citizens is greatly appreciated. It is truly a pleasure to serve you.
